505 Tuning Guide

The 505 is a high performance racing dinghy that is sailed by 2 people. It has light weight hull design with powerful sail and rig set up that allows a single trapeze, this all adds up to a great fun and responsive boat in all conditions that will start planing in 10 knots of wind.

The 505 is a One-Design class in which the hull and sail plan are controlled and have not been changed since 1954. However the rigging layout, spars, and the foils can be customised within limits, this means that it is very important to tune your boat to the set up you have.

Although most boats have varying set ups we can give you a basic guide to tuning your rig.
